Getting Started
Who can use WalkTogether?
WalkTogether is available to users aged 14 and older. Users aged 14-17 can access the app in the United States and Canada only, while users 18+ can access it worldwide. Users under 14 are not permitted to use our service.
What safety features are in place for younger users?
For users aged 14-17, we have comprehensive built-in safety features including age-segregated chat (teens only chat with teens), content monitoring, community guidelines, and reporting tools to ensure a safe environment.
What are the main features of WalkTogether?
WalkTogether has four main sections: Today (daily devotions and check-ins), Discover (Prayer Wall, Community Hub, and more), Prayer Partner (connect with a matched partner), and Companion (AI assistant for Bible questions).
How does Prayer Partner matching work?
Visit the Prayer Partner tab and select a spiritual topic you want to focus on (Peace, Anxiety, Anger, Pride, Addiction, Faith/Trust, or Love/Relationships). You'll be matched with someone in your age group who shares the same focus, and you can support each other through private chats.
How does Today's Journey work?
Each day on the Today tab, you'll receive a featured Bible verse with reflection. Tap on each daily spiritual action button (Prayer, Scripture, Action) to mark them complete. As believers across the community complete these actions, everyone can see the total count of completed actions displayed together. Completing all three each day builds and maintains your personal faith streak!
Age Restrictions & Safety
Why are there age restrictions for chat features?
We prioritize user safety in Prayer Partner matching by ensuring age-appropriate, faith-centered connections. Users aged 14-17 can only be matched with other users aged 14-17, and users 18+ can only be matched with other users 18+. These private, anonymous connections have no photos—just faithful hearts connecting through shared spiritual focus. The Community Hub and Prayer Wall are accessible to all users, and everyone has the ability to report any concerning content or behavior.
How do you verify users' ages?
We use multiple verification methods including account registration information, device settings, and regional restrictions to ensure users are in the appropriate age category for their access level.
What should I do if I encounter inappropriate behavior?
Report any inappropriate behavior immediately using the report button in prayer partner chat, community hub, or prayer wall. Our moderation team reviews all reports promptly. For urgent safety concerns, also contact our support team directly.
Are my conversations private?
Your conversations are private between you and your prayer partners. However, we may monitor communications to ensure compliance with our community guidelines and maintain safety.
Spiritual Features
What is the Prayer Wall?
The Prayer Wall (in the Discover tab) lets you share prayer requests with the entire community. You can pray for others, offer encouragement through comments, and mark your own prayers as answered when God responds.
What is the Bible Companion?
The Bible Companion is your AI-powered spiritual guide for Bible questions. Ask about specific verses, explore Scripture themes, get theological guidance, and deepen your understanding with contextual insights—all through a chat interface.
What is the Community Hub?
The Community Hub (in the Discover tab) is where you can connect with other believers through shared faith stories and experiences. Post updates, engage with the community, and build meaningful relationships centered on Christ.
What if I miss a day in my faith streak?
Don't worry! Missing a day resets your streak counter, but it doesn't reset your spiritual growth. The goal is consistency, not perfection. Start your streak again the next day and keep growing in faith.
Can I share prayer requests with my prayer partner?
Yes! When you're matched with a prayer partner, you can share prayer requests and spiritual struggles through your private chat. You can also share requests publicly on the Prayer Wall to receive support from the entire community.
What topics can I explore in the app?
The app offers guided Bible verses and resources for seven key topics: Peace, Anxiety, Anger, Pride, Addiction, Faith/Trust, and Love/Relationships. You can explore these topics in the Discover tab or select one when finding a prayer partner.
What is the Journaling feature?
The Spiritual Journaling feature lets you document your faith journey with private journal entries. Write about prayers, spiritual insights, personal reflections, and growth moments in a secure space. Your journal entries are private and only visible to you.
What is the Prayer Timer?
The Prayer Timer helps you build focused prayer habits with guided time intervals. Set dedicated prayer sessions and receive gentle reminders to maintain consistency in your prayer life. It's a simple tool to help you stay intentional with your prayer practice.
Technical Support
The app won't load or keeps crashing
Try these steps: 1) Force close and restart the app, 2) Restart your device, 3) Check for app updates in the App Store, 4) Ensure you have a stable internet connection. If problems persist, contact our support team.
I'm not receiving push notifications
Check your device settings: Go to Settings > Notifications > WalkTogether and ensure notifications are enabled. Also check that "Do Not Disturb" mode isn't blocking notifications.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account by going to Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data. Alternatively, contact our support team for assistance.
Can I use WalkTogether on multiple devices?
Currently, WalkTogether is designed for single-device use. Your account data is stored locally on your device. Multi-device sync may be available in future updates.

For All Users
- Never share personal information like your full name, address, phone number, or school/workplace
- Be respectful and kind in all interactions, reflecting Christian values
- Report inappropriate behavior, harassment, or safety concerns immediately
- Keep conversations focused on faith, prayer, and spiritual encouragement
- Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, report it and discontinue the conversation
For Users Ages 14-17
- Remember that you can only chat with other users in your age group (14-17) in prayer partner chat
- Use the built-in safety features and report any concerning behavior
- Never arrange to meet someone from the app in person without trusted adult supervision
- If someone makes you uncomfortable, report the behavior
- Focus on building healthy, faith-centered friendships within appropriate boundaries
For Parents & Guardians
- Our app includes comprehensive built-in safety features for teen users
- All teen users are restricted to chatting only with other teens (age-segregated) in prayer partner chat
- Content monitoring and daily safety tips in prayer partner chats and guidelines reminders
